Booz & Company's online working capital profiler
Filed in archive Best practice on March 22, 2009
In these tough times, cash is in short supply, yet there is up to $950 billion of excess working capital on corporate balance sheets that could be converted to cash. That's the belief promoted by Booz & Company.

They have recently introduced a simple online tool in which you can introduce your company's stock symbol (if it is a listed company) and get a comparison with the peers in the industry in terms of receivables, inventory and other financial/operational ratios.
You can find the profiler over here. I did try it with the GE symbol and found out the company is a best practice: Saving potential was demonstrated as 0, but we all know that even GE needs money these days :).
