Asos achieves success in supply chain
Filed in archive Best practice on October 18, 2005

Retail Week reported yesterday about this supply chain success story about Asos, famous fashion e-tailer. Asos has revealed a massive sales increase in the past six months as a result of a boosted product offer and improved supply chain.
Sales in the six months to September 30 were up 86 per cent on last year. The retailer has completed its move to a 70,000 sq ft (6,505 sq m) Hemel Hempstead warehouse.
The warehouse is crucial to the online retailer's future growth. Previously, Asos held stock at four small sites, which led to additional costs and an impact on profits.
Asos chief executive nick Robertson said: "I remain optimistic about the long-term prospects for Asos and we are putting in the building blocks now to support continued high levels of growth. That said, our first half performance should not necessarily be taken as an indication of the outcome of the full year, especially with tougher comparables ahead and the all-important Christmas trading period to come."
