Asetek appoints new supply chain lead

Asetek, the provider of system thermal and acoustic management solutions, announced last week that it has appointed Electronics Industry veteran Alex Tang Vice President of Supply Chain to lead its worldwide manufacturing effort.

According to Business Wire, Mr. Tang brings extensive knowledge of OEM and EMS manufacturing, outsourcing, materials and supplier management to the company. Tang also brings expertise in contract negotiation and quality control. Over the past 15 years he has served in a variety of manufacturing operations and supply chain positions with companies including Solectron, SanDisk, and Trimble Navigation.

"Alex has hands-on experience in all aspects of supply chain management and his experience with Chinese and Asian operations is particularly strong," states André S. Eriksen, Asetek's CEO. "His deep strategic vision is necessary to build a highly efficient supply chain as we ramp volume with our Chinese manufacturing partners and suppliers. Alex brings the key skills we need to assure that our supply chain can meet the expectations set by our world class OEM customers.

Alex holds an MBA in Marketing from Santa Clara University as well as a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from University of Oregon. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
