Arrow Electronics expands to China through partnership
Filed in archive Partnerships on June 30, 2006
According to a news release from ESM, Arrow Electronics Inc. has teamed up with a unit of China Electronics Corp. to offer OEMs manufacturing and other supply chain services that would help equipment makers optimize their operations.
The partnership between Arrow's North American Components division and China Great Wall Computer Group is geared towards reducing the logistical hurdles manufacturers face when the production process involves sub assembly and final assembly on different continents.
The Arrow components business would provide the support services needed to ensure OEM productions in China get the same level of support they now receive at the company's facilities in Phoenix, the companies said in a statement.
"Arrow can now ensure that customers who want to manufacture their products overseas will have their established manufacturing practices replicated exactly, which eliminates the need to conduct inspections at multiple manufacturing sites," said Steve Ramsland, vice president and general manager, Arrow OEM Computing Solutions.
"Our global customers now have a cost-effective way to penetrate the Asian market while maintaining the same quality standards they are accustomed to in North America," added Ramsland.
