AmeriQual reports on RFID supply chain progress

According to Using RFID, Symbol Technologies and its solutions partner Tacit Solutions have partnered with shelf-stable food products supplier AmeriQual Group to deploy Symbol's mobile computers, RFID and wireless technologies to track cases and pallets of goods as they move through the supply chain, from packaging through to delivery.

As a supplier to the US Department of Defense, AmeriQual plans to ship more than one million cases using the RFID solution by the end of 2006. Tacit Solutions provided project management, hardware selection and application development for the solution. AmeriQual deployed Symbol MC9000-G RFID mobile computers along with Symbol MC9060-G mobile computers, XR400 RFID fixed readers and the WS2000 wireless switch to track and trace cases and pallets tagged with RFID.
